Work accidents are conditions of unintended things that occur and have a bad impact on those who experience them. A worker named Eko Suryanto (Employee of PT. Sinar Agung Sukses Selalu, Karanganyar) suffered an accident crushed by a conveyor wheel which resulted in his left hand having to be amputated above the elbow. Eko Suryanto is grateful for the work accident insurance program, from this program Eko Suryanto received bionic hand assistance borne by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. “BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is very helpful, even though it is a disaster, there are still things to be grateful for, all treatment, to get a bionic prosthetic hand, is borne by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan,” he explained while undergoing therapy and installation of bionic hands at the National Hospital, Friday (4/6).

This Bionic Hand by UNDIP Mechanical Engineering helps Eko Suryanto to improve his quality of life again. With the Bionic Hand, he can now do daily activities such as grasping (glass and door handles).

President Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Anggoro Eko Cahyo said that the bionic hand was the result of the work of the Diponegoro National Hospital (RSND) team. “BPJS Ketenagakerjaan covers all costs, due to work accidents, including the need for prosthetic hands or legs. We want workers to be able to work again and work again with the help of this Bionic Hand,” explained Anggoro.

The hope is that in the future, in addition to being beneficial to the workforce, this domestic research can become the king of one’s own country. In the future, Mechanical Engineering will continue to develop this Bionic Hand to produce a wider variety of motion and be lighter in its use.
